San Jose Police Southside Substation is a 3-story, 107,000 square foot structure built over one level of underground parking. The 60 million dollar substation includes a vehicle maintenance building with washing and fueling facilities. This project is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification. Smith & Sons Electric installed the Lutron EcoSystem lighting control system comprised of digital dimming ballasts, local controls, wattstopper intelligent lighting control panels and environmental sensors, working together to save electricity, increase space flexibility, increase occupant comfort and productivity, and reduce maintenance costs.
